GATARE TEA FARMERS SACCO turns the rhythm of the tea harvest into steady credit and savings for the growers of Karambi Sector — honest, sustainable, member-owned.
GATARE Tea Farmers Savings and Credit Cooperative Society is a financial institution organized under cooperative law, governed by Rwanda's cooperative and microfinance regulations, its by-laws, policies and procedures. The SACCO operates through five organs: the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Committee, the Credit Committee, and Staff.
Founded by tea farmers themselves, the cooperative operates in Karambi Sector, Nyamasheke District, in Rwanda's Western Province — one of the country's deposit-taking microfinance institutions. It received its cooperative license from the Rwanda Cooperative Agency on 2 July 2014, and accreditation from the National Bank of Rwanda to provide financial services on 12 December 2014.
The Board of Directors reports annually to members, disclosing the cooperative's state of affairs together with audited financial statements — most recently for the year ended 31 December 2025.
